Dip coating allows for a reliable and economically means to deposit a thin to thick plastisol coating onto a given part. Dip coating consists of dipping a heated mold into the liquid plastisol, allowing the plastisol to gel onto the mold (deposition), withdraw the mold from the liquid plastisol, and further heat the plastisol for proper fusion (full physical characteristics).  The longer the heated mold is allowed to rest in the liquid plastisol, the thicker the coating that is deposited onto the mold.  The plastisol coating may be stripped from the mold and the mold re-used, or the plastisol coating may become part of the functional part.  The mold may or may not need a primer for the plastisol coating to have proper adhesion if it becomes a coating for the function part.
