Slush molding plastisols is a unique process that allows for uniform wall thickness of the finished part. For slush molding plastisols, a cavity or hollow mold is filled with liquid plastisol, exposing the mold to heat and gelling the uniform inner layer of plastisol to the mold.  The mold is inverted and the excess liquid plastisol is poured from the cavity.  Additional heat is applied to cure the plastisol for proper fusion.  The mold is cooled and the finished molded plastisol part is removed/de-molded.

Lakeside Polymer Services will work with the customer to develop a slush moldable plastisols that processes well given the customer’s specifications and equipment.  Special formulation usually depends on the molder’s equipment, mold size and type, and physical properties.
